Live CART (Verbatim Text)

CART stands for Communication Access Realtime Translation. CART is a service in which a certified CART provider listens to speech and instantaneously translates all the speech to text.

This is used for live programs - such as Live Webcasts or CE21 operated Zoom Powered Webcasts.

Live CART comes with a clean transcript of the presentation post-event. Live CART does not carry over to an archive. It is recommended you use Smart Captions if closed captions are required for a webcast archive.

As Live CART requires real-life professionals to translate the speech to text, we recommend securing this option 3+ weeks from any event date.

Live CART is exclusively full service and rates are based on the 3rd party partner that CE21 works with.

3rd Party passthrough CART Fees

• Remote CART Captioning: $120/hour (Rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes - for example program schedule 9am-10:20am would be billed as 1.5 hours)

• Short-notice request flat fee (request of 48 hours or less): +$50

• Cancellation fee (cancellation of 24 hours or less): Full cost of scheduled job

• After hours— Monday through Friday, 8pm-7am (CT)—and weekends/holidays: +$25/hour

Note that if the program schedule goes long, the excess time will be billed. It is best to keep program schedules with CART tight on schedule.

CE21 Administrative Fee

• $50 per each separate program request for live CART Services

• +$25 additional for each program requested for live CART services under 1 week to event date.

• Bulk Discount: A single client request for CART Captioning for up to 5 separate live webcast entries in a single request will all share a single CE21 Administrative setup fee.

Live CART Examples:

• Live Webcast: 9am-12:00pm (Mon) - requested 4 weeks out | $410.00 ($360 for 3 Hrs program schedule, $50 CE21 Administrative Fee)

• Live Webcast: 8am-4pm (Fri) - requested 5 days out and program ended at 4:08pm | $1,065 ($960 for 8 Hrs program schedule, $30 at 15m overage, $75 CE21 Administrative Fee)

How accurate is Live CART?

99% accuracy for live programs that are clearly audible.

What is the turnaround time for Live CART

Request live CART 3+ weeks from the event date. Last minute requests may not be able to be fulfilled.

The clean transcript document after the program may not be available for 2-3 business days after the event while the CART professional cleans up the text.

Can I download the Live CART at a later date?

There is not an actual file generated for this. The 3rd party that CE21 works with will provide a clean transcript document of the presentation that can be provided as a course handout (if desired). Ask your CE21 person who handled the request if you desire to have the post-event clean transcript.

LIVE WEBCAST | ZOOM POWERED WEBCAST

1. In your program in CE21 Manager, edit the product and copy the URL at the top of your browser.

2. Send an email to captions@ce21.com and post the URL into the body of the email along with the program name, program date(s) and your request for Live CART

3. CE21 will arrange for this program to be set up with 3rd party and enter a URL for the Transcript tab to appear in the product which will appear once the live program goes ON AIR

ZOOM MEETING/WEBINAR OR OTHER WEBINAR PRODUCTS

1. In your program in CE21 Manager, edit the product and copy the URL at the top of your browser.

2. Send an email to captions@ce21.com and post the URL into the body of the email along with the program name, program date(s) and your request for Live CART

3. CE21 will confirm ability of 3rd party to accommodate in webinar platform as well as confirming they have a link to register.
